I know I would've freaked out as soon as heads started flying, if I'd watched this when I was thirteen. LOLH is best appreciated by older teens and adults - the social undercurrents and the beauty of the darker themes may not come easily to a younger viewer. Those who can't stand anime without a clear structure should probably stay away, while those who like anime that makes you feel like you're using your brain will likely enjoy this. I don't personally know of anyone who chooses to watch an anime based on its art, but if you're such a person, then this is for you too. This ranks second only to Code Geass in my books for Best Anime Of All Time, and if there were a second season to resolve its total cliffhanger of an ending they'd tie for first place. insert drum roll- The Legend of the Legendary Heroes!
